This weekend we went to our friend's vineyard to celebrate another harvest and the birthdays of their two little boys. They always go all out with food, this time is was Mexican...yummyyyyyy! This time around a bunch of people picked a few stray grapes that were left so later everyone could experience an oldfashioned grape crushing! My gal Hannah took part in both..she is always up for anything!
In case you're wondering, those grapes were not intended for anything but the 'experience' :) Given over to the compost pile when the kids were done! Here is a few more photos of my kids and the awesome views from their property, my 17 yr. old son Micah, who is an awesome photographer by the way; and little Noah, who is not quite sure what to do with those grapes in his hand.
My dear ol' dad new I was looking for a new camera and surprised me with his own in the mail! He was wanting to update (you know guys, always wanting the latest technology hehe) I couldn't be more thrilled and thankful for his 'old model'!! It is light years beyond what I was using. Here's a pic. of the box cause I'm using the camera!! :)
More this and that...my order from yesasia arrived a few days ago, and oh my gosh!!! I am so happy with all three of the books!! Each one is packed with projects I want to try. It's not often you get a book with so many, many things in it you love. Usually it's just a small handful. I'm totally squealing right now... :)
My Back Tack buddy has just informed me that my box is on the way!!! I can't tell you how exciting this all is!! I'll be sure to post pictures of course!! My BT pal is away visiting her mom right now and hasn't been home to get the package I sent her. After she does, I'll show ya all what I did for her :)
And....I'm almost finished with the felted sweater bag I started a while back. Pics. coming soon.
Lastly, just because I'm camera happy right now with my new toy...(thanks daddy!) here is a picture of my winter shoes...I bet you can guess that I sure don't live in the midwest somewhere..haha.

On the crafting front I have finished this small, crocheted bag; done in a cream pima cotton with a chenille posie (just learning how to do these, so fun!) and a baby blue, vintage picot ribbon drawstring. I love this little thing and will be offering it for sale if ever I get an album up. All that takes t-i-m-e, and that's one thing I always feel short on. I guess you could say I'm building my inventory! Ya, thats it :)
I also finished another 'Farmer's Market' necklace featuring a little glass pear this time. This will also be offerd for sale, you know, when I get the album up...
By the way, really looking forward to a new camera soon...one that will show detail so much better. That cute pear is just not getting the attention it deserves! haha.
Oh yes, I really like it over here. It will take me a while to find my way around, but I know it will be worth the effort. So, really quick before I'm off to do my grocery shopping...here is the first in my 'farmer's market' series of necklaces. Oh gosh, 'series' sounds so formal and like I'm going into major business here. I only plan to make 6 as of right now! And not every one will go for sale. Anyway, may I say this picture does not do it justice? I'm seriously in the market for a new camera. I don't want anything fancy...not even. But please, something with more then ONE megapixal thankyou!! Sheesh. Albeit a poor picture, here it is:
The major color scheme here is yellow, orange, and pale saphire. This looks so good on. Something about those colors against skin. It just sparkles.
If you will bear with a proud mama yet again, here is another beautiful shape from Noah:
I needed a change. I think I will like this much better. I'm going with 'simple sparrow' because that is the name I want to use for the things I sell. Keeping it simple (hehehe) I thought I would just rename my blog with that also. Much easier to keep track of it all that way too. It seemed like good timing...a new blog spot, a new name.
By the way, Noah is up to more amazing shapes and I made the C-Utest necklace last night. It features a small, glass lemon. I have pears and grapes too. I hope to offer these for sale. I'm going to call them my 'farmer's market' necklaces. I can't wait to show you a pic.!
