An afternoon hike

hike1

Ahhh...the great outdoors. I love, absolutely love, to get outside and breathe deep, move my body and take in the beauty that surrounds me. Sometimes I want to do that alone, and other times I want to share that with my family. This was a family hike and so much fun! It was pretty mellow so Noah did just fine, although it was a decent walk too..about 4 miles. Mark and I had 2 out of our 5 kids with us this time, Nathan and Noah. An impromptu sword fight broke out.....Boys and sticks, it just happens :)

The sweater Noah is wearing below I picked up at the thrift on Saturday. It's wool, and I thought it would make a great stuffed robot with those stripes. But, he has been smitten with it and now I'm not sure I can cut it up! Why now? He has always hated to have to wear a jacket or sweater of any kind. Then again, he is putting this on without a fuss..hmm..what's a mother to do?  Maybe his love affair will end soon and I can get excited about making him a robot. It does look awfully cute on him though :)

Beautiful children, beautiful scenery....

oh yes, beautiful children, and that sweater is darling on Noah! Funny that he claimed it. Is that our storm I see on your horizon? We had a little sunshine today as well...it was so nice to get out and breathe deep again after a month of wet.

What fun...yes, beautiful children ~ treasures!

hiking in flip flops!!! my kinda boy:)

I have never seen Nathan before - all your kids are precious. Keep sweet Noah in that sweater, you can always make a robot when he grow out of it....

ahhhhhhhhh yes...beautiful day beautiful family...the schtuff of good living:) the schtuff of treasured memory:)

ps. the red and white stripes are perfect on little noah:)

I love Noah's gorgeous hair. My oldest boy has ginger hair. Maybe you could applique a robot on the jumper in felt. He looks like he could wear it a couple more years .

that little Noah of yours is a sweet thing! love the striped jumper.

that hike looks beautiful! man, that sweater is going to make a great robot...but for now it sure makes for a cute sweater for a cute boy!

Your children are beautiful! I agree with the other comments. Let Noah keep the sweater. He is just too darn cute in it!
