slowly but surely
First of all, my computer free day was great. Very needed. It really helped knowing Blair and Molly were doing it too. That accountability thing, you know :) At this point I plan to have every Friday be computer free and this week I'm going to add Wednesday too. Brave, I know.
Slowly but surely I'm trying to get some of my things ready so I can reopen my Etsy shop. This is a starter for getting my fabric buttons packaged. I'm happy with the overall idea, but definitely want to tweek with it some more. The whiteness of the tags is a bit glaring, and I'm not crazy about my printing for instance. I think a more delicate pen would be nice. I had fun naming the sets, pictured here are: Neopolitan, Grandma's Kitchen and Springtime babies. I'm a little sad because I'm just about out of all the button kits I found at the thrift store. I'll have to search out where to buy them now, and I can kiss goodbye the sweet deal they gave me at the thrift! (Vicki, I will try the link you gave me)
Yesterday I picked up from the printer copies of this and this . I have 10 prints of each and they'll be in the shop too. I'm so slow at this. My life is full, full, full! and some most of the time my crafting endeavors must take a back seat. So, I inch along and that's O.K. I'm in the season of raising a busy houseful of kids, and I want to savor every moment :)

Toni, you definitely have the right idea. Kids come first. I am thrilled that the computer free day worked with you. I am a bit apprehensive about adding another computer free day to my week, I've cut sugar out this week too, I may end up institutionalized if I risk being too vice-less. But, I'm definitely in for Friday. And those prints are *beautiful*! I may have to reward my absence of sugar and computers and treat myself to one. xo

Toni you're too harsh of a critic on your work. The button cards are so perfect - the printing, ribbon thru hole, white cards, everything. The buttons are so precious - I've bought covered button kits like that at Wal Mart before. They have to be cheap if I bought them. The fabrics you chose are the sweetest, especially the baby ones! How come you closed your Etsy? It's not like you have to keep it jam packed with stuff. Even a little is good. Don't be sooo tough on yourself! :)

Are you crazy they look really professional. I'm with Laura just put them on Etsy.

I think the packaging is gorgeous! Really! I am contemplating 1 or 2 computer free days too - still not ready to commit though. I have to work up to it! :) Jen

I agree with everybody else!I think that the tags look great (I told you they would!)Just a suggestion but maybe you could add a little piece of the fabric from the buttons to the tag somewhere? The printing is so lovely I wish I could be so neat!

Toni, didn't it feel good to be computer free? You are so brave to add one more day. I'm not there yet...esp. with dan out of town. But I got so much done while i was away from the computer. And you're right, it really helped A LOT to know you and blair were there with me.
And I just have to agree with everyone else. I think those cards are adorable! put 'em up in the shop. they're ready.
(I saw button kits at joanns last week. Not sure of the quality, though)

Oh Toni ... your buttons are beautiful ... especially love the vintage babies! I really like the white card ... nice and clean and don't interfere with the colours of the buttons ... everything about them is lovely as is ... you're too harsh a critic (aren't we all about our own work?).
I've been trying to spend more time away from the computer too ... but just getting back to listing on eBay again ... gosh, the motivation just isn't there right now.
P.S. Remember me?
