Green + bags (but not green bags)

Wednesday is green. Click for notes!
Two new bags, using what I have. This one is the one I gave a sneek peek on. Just a basic rectangle with wide straps. The posie on the front was very fun to make and came together easily...a really good thing since I just started doing it with out a plan or guide. A few of you said you liked the black and white fabric. I got it from e-quilter and it was on sale for like, $5 something a yard! It's a linen and it is so wonderful. I may go back for more---after April!!! Don't you go sneak off and buy up the rest of it! And oh, the lining is some orange and pink Amy Butler...don't you just love orange and pink together? Yummy.
This next one really excites me. Did I ever tell you I'm really a hippie (in looks!) deep down inside? Well, I am. You wouldn't always know it to look at me, but ask my family and they would all say "YES! are you kidding?" Anyway, this was made from a thrifted striped turtleneck that I snatched up because I L.O.V.E.D. those stripes! I ran a floss drawstring through the lace seam-binding and added a couple of glass beads too. Since the sweater was a knit, it really needed the drawstring, otherwise it just hung wide open. A simple brown denim strap...and Wa-La! my hippie tendencies are in full swing here :)

L.O.V.E your hippy bag!! I had a sneaking suspicion that you were really a hippy!
That linen is beautiful and works so nicely with the Amy Butler lining.
Two more great bags Toni!!

I'm a hippy at heart too Toni. I was born to a hippy in the 60's. What choice do I have? I love both the bags. What a great reinvention of a thrifted item!

The hippy bag rocks.(Power to the people!) I have a big ol' pile of thrifted sweaters that I'm going to turn into bags and if they turn out half as well, I'm going to be tickled.
