The banquet table that is never empty
This post will be somewhat completely random, jumping here and there. I'm just typing my thoughts as they appear in my head...scary. I hope there are not any psychologists out there ;) Also, posting some photos that caught my eye this morning. Very random indeed.
Random thought #1: Today is Computer Free Friday--I have pretty much failed miserably at keeping up with this the last few weeks. One Friday, I just hopped right on, answering my email without a care in the world. La la la la la...typing away. HELLO..it's Friday, Ms. scatter-brain! Anyway, I am still very much committed to the spirit of staying off of the computer when I should. I'm just not sure what that looks like for me right now. I think until we are finished with school for the summer, I will try to steer clear during the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm or so. When summer arrives, I'll need to come up with a new plan. It feels good to confess and move on....
Random still life photo. This is the top of my TV cabinet
Random thought #2: I am a spaz when it comes to using commas. It never really clicked with me how/when to use them, so I just throw them in liberally. Here a comma, there a comma, everywhere a comma-comma.
Random thought #3: When you use bloglines to view updated blogs, do you not see the actual main page of that particular blog? If so, that is a bummer. So many blogs are very pretty to look at.
Random self-portrait in my bathroom mirror.
Sweet freckles on a favorite 4 yr. old I know
This is probably the most substantial thing I have to say today, and that is I'm thinking of taking a little blog break. Just for a week or so. Maybe a bit less. I'm finding that blogging can work 2 ways with me. One, it can be an exciting source of inspiration, camaraderie and mutual encouragement which I really, really, love. Not to mention the genuine friendships I have made, and that is why I'm not staying away too long :) But creative wise, I need to pull back from this world that never stops feeding me with all of this yummy food...the art, the imagination, the color, the shapes, the textures...everything that this incredible, crafty blog world offers. I need some time to process, to think, to create without adding anymore to my already full plate! Did I make sense? So, next week I'm going to try my best to at least be scarce on this thing and savor some of my own creativity. I'm hoping this break will leave me with some finished projects that feel very satisfying, and of course I'll be dying to share them with all of you!! xo

I use Bloglines to see when blogs are updated, but for the most part I actually click the link to the blog to read the post. Firstly, it adds up on page counters- which are important! And secondly, real pages are far prettier. I put a lot of work into my layout and it would be a shame to miss the work others have put into theirs as well.

I enjoyed your random thoughts!
I hope you'll have a lovely blog-break!

i'll miss ya next week but totally "get" why you need to take a break. I spend way too much time reading blogs when I should be making stuff. Can't wait to see what you come up with :)

Hello! I discovered your blog a few weeks ago, and let me tell you I am hooked! Your projects are beautiful. I really loved your use-what-you-have April idea and have really tried to stick with it. Thanks for all the inspiration and enjoy your break.

we all need breaks from time to time! taking a blog break is a sign of a good blogger, i think. :)
p.s. i always click through to see the real pages, too- i work hard to make mine pretty, and i know others do, too. i like to see the real thing!

Oh I'm so going to miss you next week! But I can't wait to see what you make in your time away. Hope you're not gone for too long though.

Everybody needs a "spring break". : )

I so understand your need to withdraw a little from the blogworld. It's so addictive it can steal a lot of one's crafting time. Enjoy your break and we'll be looking forward to your coming back!
So true about seeing the "real thing" when subscribing via Bloglines btw. Bloglines can actually miss a posting or two, so at least every couple of times I click my way to the actual blog.

I wish you to have a really sweet blogging break ! I send you all my bigger smooches ever :) I'll miss you !

I so know what you mean about the creative overload. I want to try this and then that but first I need to try this. It can make your head spin and of course you can't try any of it because you are too busy reading more of this and that.
I am never sure if I should use a comma either. I tend to either use too many commas and have really long run on sentences. All of your photos are lovely. Especially those precious freckles and the pretty lady in the mirror.
Enjoy your break! You'll be missed. I know you'll have lots of pretty stuff to show us when you return.

My husband collects those beautiful little paperweights you posted a pic of.... NICE....also... forget about commas...I use ellipsis to seperate my thoughts~smile~ that way I don't look like a comma freak....:) Very effective...
Enjoy your blog break. My blog has fallen short lately but not the reading of other blogs....and I make lists of really cool projects to make....spending my time in the list making and not the project~sigh~
....so enjoy the beauty...enjoy the break... enjoy the freckles... and have a fine day....all..day...long

First, I love freckles! They are so cute!!! I've started to use bloglines just because it has cut my looking time in half. I click on the blog name ,it opens up the blog page in a new window, you can see the beautiful blog and read it. When you done, I close that window and now your back to your update bloglines and go on to the next updated blog.
I look forward to seeing what you create on you time away, Crazy comma lady...LOL
I just had to say it.

What a wonderful way to say goodbye, full of whimsy, laughter, love, good thoughts, and friendship! See you in a week or so...but do not be longer ok???

i'm sorry to hear that you are going
to be away for a bit
but you might get a chuckle out of knowing
that i will be diligently be
clicking on your link
at least once a day...
just to see...
i'm notoriously bad for that...

Toni, I know exactly what you're saying (commas and all). It is a very consuming world on so many levels. We should never feel bad about taking a break when we need to, it should be a required part of blogging, don't you think? Enjoy your break to the fullest (and those cute freckles).xo

Great random post! Love all the pictures too. I'm glad you're taking some time to relax and refresh, gosh I have to do that regularly. I don't make too many rules for myself though (so hard to keep them!) but I do set limits on my time and how I spend it otherwise nothing else gets done, and we all run out of clean underwear...don't laugh, this actually happened at my house. A bit of a "wake-up call", right? (ha ha) Take care dear lady I'll be thinking of you while I tackle my laundry! xox

Enjoy your blog break and time to actually create instead of just thinking about it. (Jenny at True Nature just blogged about the effects of being "steeped too heavily in others work". Such an accurate description!)
Oh, and don't feel bad about the commas thing, b/c I have an ENGLISH degree and still don't know where the heck to put the commas!! And they were going to let me teach high schoolers!!! Talk about the blind leading the blind... ;-)

Breaks are good -- even if they are only a few days. Sometimes I think it is my hobby to collect good ideas for creating, instead of creating. Its easier :-)

Love the self portraits pretty girl!! I totally understand your desire for a blog break. It is a lot to process with all those talented people out there (you for instance). You will be missed while you are away but I hope it is very relaxing and productive!

This was such a fun post to read! I hope you enjoy your blog break! I think I know what you mean. I know I just reach a saturation point sometimes and really have to step back.
