Crafting memories
I got these out today, and with them came the fun memories I have of making them with my children--9 years ago. 9 years ago!...has that much time gone by already? That was a really fun summer. I was determined to actually DO all the fun ideas I had with my kids, instead of just thinking about them and never getting around to it. This was one of those projects. It's a paper mache process over glass. We used colored tissue and added some glitter too--for those who wanted it. Hannah's is the smallest one, she was only 3 yrs. old!
I'm so thankful that these have survived all our moves and what not. They really look spectacular with bright zinnias. I usually grow some every year, but this season the dirty-rotten snails decimated them. Just for the record, I really do think snails are cute---in children's books, in artwork, embroidery, etc...but in my garden? uh, no. No way. It means war quite honestly. No mercy.
Gosh, I really sound like a villain. Sorry mister snail...
You may have noticed that I made a new banner. (if you're in bloglines, come on out and take a peek--there is a picture of Noah in it that is hilarious!) It's the only creative thing I've been able to squeeze in aside from working on the---The Quilt---the all consuming quilt. A labor of love.
