Pumpkins are a happy thing

Don't they just make you smile all piled up like that?
I love pumpkins. They make me happy with their pudgy round shape--often coming in oddball sizes and quirky forms. Their cheerful orange color is, well, just that--cheerful! I'm going to confess something, just like Alicia did a little bit ago---I.do.not.like.Halloween. We just don't get into scary stuff around here--even in mild forms. But! I do love Autumn and all that it brings--especially chubby, glowing pumpkins.

H. and N. testing out potential purchases...decisions, decisions.

Look at all those beautiful pumpkins! Was this taken near where you live, Toni? WOW! I love pumpkins, too, always have even when I was very little. They bring cheer just to look upon them. Pumpkins and fall decorating excite me more than Christmas. Like yourself, the spooky side of Halloween, doesn't do much for me. The good, clean side is ok--bobbing for apples, candy corn, and pumkpins, pumpkins, pumpkins! So, which pumpkins was decided on there? Happy Days :o)

That's exactly what I need: a pallet full of pumpkins.
I lovelovelove Halloween. But not the scary, gory, frightful aspect... I love the pumpkins, gords, candy (can-day!), autumn colors and cooler temps.
Scray bloody gore stuff isn't my thing.

Great pumpkin pictures! I'm like you. I really dislike Halloween. But I do enjoy decorating for fall.

I'm also not so into the spooky. Cure witches and ghosts are fine but no skeletons or scary stuff here. I love seeing all those pumpkins, and flip-flops in the pumpkin patch!

Hate scary Halloween stuff too but I like the cute Halloween stuff a lot. Pumpkins for sure. I tried to buy a Halloween book for Bea and they were all scary! What is up? What is up with this society I live in? I wonder sometimes.

We don't 'do' Halloween either. No trick or treating or witches in our house! We do carve pumpkins though with smiley faces and ours shine for Jesus in our window through their carved out crosses! We love autumn and all it's glorious colours, the crisp air and wrapping up warm for walks in the park!Reminds us how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful world.

BEEautiful! I always forget how brown the surrounding hills get down there. Lovely contrast with the orange pumpkins. Very autumnal. Say hello to H. and N. for us!

Those are MARVELLOUS photos and even better in bringing the attention back to how beautiful orange pumpkins really are! Halloween just takes over the whole Autumn...and I love it that you celebrate the pumpkin on it's own, as it grows from the vine. :-) We're not big Halloween people either....more power to you for saying it out loud!!

So glad to hear there are other people out there who don't like Halloween. People tend to look at me strange when I say that we don't celebrate it. As I child, we stopped celebrating at some point and I never really missed it. (And who needs all that candy?! After taking my youngest to the dentist today for four fiillings--not us!)
I hate that my kids come running scared from silly, scary commericals during this time of year--even on the Disney channel! They are the ones who don't like it--it's not just me putting my ideas on them.
But fall...well what's not to love about fall? And pumpkins...I can't get enough of them either! Thanks for sharing your pumpkin pictures!

Great photos, I to am not a fan of Halloween, I just think its wrong and goes against my beleives, it is so hard to keep the children away from all things halloween, especially my older one. He's enrolled in 'Badgers' a group of kids who through play and craft are taught to care for people and animals around them. He came home from it last week saying he had to go in costume next week and has run around the house as a Zombie for a week...what can you do...
Its a little less pushed at you here in the UK but we are catching up at a fast speed, shops full of scary faces and my littlist one just gets scared walking through the village shops.
So thank you for cheering me up with the lovely photos...better get off my soap box now!!!
