de-lurk, say hello!

delurking

there have been several posts around in blogland about national delurking week (that is so funny to me, national delurking week..ha.) so for the first time i thought i would invite any and all who visit me here incognito to pop your head out and say hello! i would love to meet you! tell me a little something about yourself and i'll enjoy every word as i drink my tea. i won't mind one bit if you go back into hiding afterwords :)

what can i say about me that i have not already blabbed about?? here are few random bits....

*i love chickens. i think they are SO FUNNY.

*i'm not a picky eater, but please don't ask me to eat sushi. raw fish wrapped in seaweed? no thanks!

* i love watching little house on the prairie. we own six seasons on dvd. (with plans to own the whole collection)

*my mom tells me when i was born my head was shaped like gumby. i guess that's a down-side to a forceps delivery. it took a couple of months to straighten out---whew! i'm so glad it did.

*i am now the very proud owner of a saab 92x and it's the funnest car i've ever driven!(would not be possible without the very generous gift from my parents...come on dad, delurk and say hello! i know you're out there somewhere)

that's enough about me. now, i'm looking forward to meeting you!

Oh, thanks, now you made me want sushi and we're snowed in.

It's not all raw fish. My husband likes... well, I can't remember the name of them. Crab and avocado and cream cheese, I think. (He also doesn't like cucumbers, which eliminates even more types (all the California Roll variations) than raw fish would.) And hey, Kansas Rolls involve seared beef tenderloin.

But... mmm, dynamite rolls.

I love sushi! ;)
There's always a love of travelling.
Right now I'd fancy a nap.
I live in Sweden and am looking for the perfect job (or any actually).
Your blog is full of lovely things that you've made and that's the reason why I hang around.

I love chickens, too; I have 3, in fact. :) I don't comment here but I read you via RSS faithfully. You and all the other crafty bloggers are so inspiring and may actually get me back to the sewing machine this year after a long absence mostly spent knitting and spinning. I have to teach my oldest girl this year anyway. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

How funny that you mentioned little house on the prarie! I adore little house. Yesterday I happened to catch the episodes guest-starring a very young James Cromwell. *swoon*

I think chickens are great, too. Ever since I found out that we can still have chickens in the city limits, I've been trying to convince my husband to build a chicken coop in the back yard. Hmm...wonder what the neighbors would think. :)

You've got a great blog. I'm still trying to get my courage up with leaving comments on my favorite blogs, but I'll try to come out of hiding more often!

Hi Toni! I discovered your blog several months ago through Posie Gets Cozy and check in with you daily. I consider myself "conceptually creative". I'm full of ideas, but getting them from my head out my hands is where the challenge lies. Reading my favorite craft blogs has been such a positive and inspiring thing for me, so thank you! Here are a few facts about me:

*I live in Colorado with my husband and (7)year old daugher and (5) year old son.
*I've never skied in my life

*I love children and old people

*I read cookbooks like novels

*I laugh alot

*I have beautiful handwriting

*I'm perceptive and can tell you're a "real" person.

Thanks for sharing yourself so freely with all of us and Happy New Year!!

Thank you for inviting me in. I've been calling myself a blog whore for about 6 months-I guess that means I'm a lurker- but finally started a blog myself. I admire you very much for keeping yours up and running, raising your family and keeping your priorities in mind. I live in Colorado, which at the moment seems like Minnesota, with my husband, 12 year old boy, and 5 year old girl. I teach at a school with some pretty needy kids, and I coach other teachers in pedagogy and brain research. Oh, and art? Just started having the guts to call myself an artist.
Thanks again. Happy New Year.

Hi there! I'm fairly new to your weblog but have enjoyed visiting, your photographs are so sumptuous.

I must admit, I love sushi, thanks to my little girl who discovered it when she was three and always asks for it as her favourite treat. We love Little House too, we own just 2 seasons on dvd and my dd has watched them hundreds of times. We must get more!

About me? Nothing much. Mother, homeschooler, writer, in that order. Also, I've recently discovered sewing and have become passionate about it.

Thanks for creating such a beautiful weblog for us all to share.

I think I have said hello before... commenting here and there on your amazing creativity and your beautiful photographs...
love stopping by :)
swing on by my world for a little bit more about me.

Cheers!

I've been reading for a few months and have to admit that it's a bit intimidating to jump right in with the comments since the blog community seems to all know each other and, well, I don't have a blog. So, I feel like a bit of a poser, if you will. I love looking at all things craft related and get tons of inspiration from reading blogs like yours. I always get a little excited when there's a new post. :-) About me: I live in Seattle with my husband, two kids and dog. I love to knit, bead and scrapbook and have recently gotten into sewing although I'm not terribly good right now. Hopefully that will change as the kids get older and I have more time to just hang out with the machine. I'm not sure if that's a pipe-dream but I like to think that *someday* I'll have time to craft whenever I want. I don't like sushi either and actually have never tried it but it just doesn't sound appealing to me. That's about it. I'll try and say hello more often, I promise.

Hi. My name is Emy. I'm a mom to an almost 3 year old boy and I live in Sicily but daydream constantly about moving back to the states (and having chickens.) In my spare time I like to make things, mostly sewing, but a little painting and other crafts here and there. I don't know if I would try the raw fish sushi either. But then again, I'm not big on fish.
Hope you're having a nice weekend!

Hello. /delurked

Hi Toni! Not a lurker but I wanted to say hi, and what a beautiful photo!

I'll delurk! I'm originally from Alaska and trapped... er... have moved to California and am desperately trying to move my small family to Oregon next year. I knit feverishly, dream of other crafts and never seem to get time/organized for any. I have a gorgeous 3 year old daughter whom I am at home with and plan to homeschool. Love your blog!

Margo

Well, just thought it would be the perfect time to "introduce" myself to you!

I found your blog over a year ago by clicking on a link on my friend's blog (apparently the two of you are buddies). ANYHOW, I saw a link to your new etsy shop, and I had NO idea what etsy was. I fell in love with etsy and now have two etsy accounts.

Oh YES - I LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog too! It is such a happy one to read (I have lots of kids, too, and I live near the beach like you - but am on the opposite side of the country)!

Little House?! I watch it still! My latest favorite is Upstairs Downstairs... my hubby and I spent the entire summer watching each episode. If anyone out there in blogland loves anything Victorian/Edwardian, I highly recommend watching the series... beautiful costumes and of course, all the decor is period as well. I even recognized a Sadler teapot of my own used in the servants' quarters!

Happy Sunday!

Hello. I've beenr eading your blog for a while now and quite like it. Very inspiring and lovely. I'll just duck my head back down again now. :)

Hi! Nice to meet you! I have followed you on flickr for quite a while.

Me. I live in Finland and on the internet ;-) Used to do research (Ethnology) at the University but I have decided to follow my heart and start crafting full-time. Ok, part-time , I have two kids (1 and 4y) too. Might take the challenge and reveal more about myself in a day or two, stop by at my place if you like! My face:

Hello, I'm a lurker. I just love to check out your projects. You always have such great color combinations, both in your crafts and photos! My husband and I post at http://www.rockland-ave.com and I have an Etsy shop at http://www.mosesandzoe.com

I've been reading your blog for several months and really enjoy it. I have a blog at www.spiritualknitter.blogspot.com. Nice to meet you!

I'm a history student from Germany, Munich actually.
I wish it would snow over here.
I love the Gilmore Girls, I saw 14 parts of the fourth season this weekend (although I was doing stuff for university, but not too much).
I hate cooking, but I don't have to do it.
And I read your blog, and I like it.

Thanks for the invitation to "delurk". I just received your "Begin Again" print and I love it. It will be my morning inspiration...
I live near Buffalo, NY with my husband and one child out of four who still lives at home. I am finding great inspiration from the blogging community and I especially love your blog. It's such a happy place.

Back again... Perhaps I should have posted that I have a blog as well... BeachysCapeCodCupboard.blogspot.com
I'd love to add you as a favorite on my blog, which is another reason I wanted to introduce myself to you! =)

Hello, I've been a lurker on and off. Trying not to be so much. I read every Little House on the Prairie book several times when I was a girl. They seemed so exotic from my suburban life in Melbourne. We saw it on TV but the series didn't grab me as much as the books.

This year, I would like to spend more time sewing, gardening and reading. And hanging out with the family, of course. I love this bloggy world. And yours was one of the ones that inspired me alot when I started back in April last year.

Hey!
I love to read your site and see your FO's. I have two kids under 2 1/2, so I don't get to complete much but I feel a little satisfied seeing what others have done. Love your work, sushi, knitting (I am learning to sew), yoga, and photography.
Thanks for the great posts!

Hello, I read often but comment very seldom. When I push my crumb scattering children out of the nest and get a grown-up car I'd really like to own a Saab. My friend owned one with heated leather seats - very strange bum sensation when you're not expecting it!

Hi Toni, I'm Mirre and I just bought a super RED bike for myself :))
