a little of this--a little of that
still a bit random here...so much to talk about i guess!
well! so i'm not the only one with tardy books due at the library. you guys crack me up! meg , your comment was hilarious. ok, now i guess i'll fess up and tell you what my fine was--that's the least i can do when some of you so willingly told me yours...it was like, 51.00 dollars or something. it was one of those times when we went on vacation and i forgot to turn the books and videos in--videos rack up major fines in my neck of the woods. gee-whiz, the lady at the counter was not very quiet about either. i thought you are supposed to whisper in the library!? thanks for sharing your fine stories, they were pret-TY entertaining.
i LOVE this tea cozy featured in the march country living magazine. it fills me with so much inspiration. tea cozies are just one of the cutest things ever. i have been wanting to make one for my new teapot (which is not so new anymore). it's one of those personal size ones, enough for about 2 cups. it would look so very cute with a little jacket to keep it warm. speaking of tea cozy inspiration, did you happen to lay eyes on the one cassi made?? that one will definitely cause you to break out the smelling salts. is there no end to cassi's incredible talent? love her.
i have been working on more trailer embroidery. they are quite addicting you know. and, the smallest pair of hands in the house has taken a sudden interest in learning to sew. you should have seen his face when he came up through the cloth and realized his needle had left the thread behind. it was this big "whoops!" expression...so cute.
moving on to yet another totally different subject...i had a sudden burst to take photos of my cat today. he is the best kitty ever. just one big ball of fluff and sweetness--with an occasional feisty side. but mostly sweetness. his name is otter, and i adore him.

Those trailer embroideries are so growing on me.I can see them all lined up on the sofa.My parents have a camper van I might have to make a few for them.Of course that is when I can actually find some time to really craft.
Otter is so cute!He looks like he's king of the castle!I bet he has his own chair and everything right?
Threadless needle moments are priceless.xxx

Very cool tea cozy. We so rarely put our tea in the pot. We just make it in the cups - very uncivilized, I know. Maybe if I made a cozy we would?

Just think of all the new books the library can buy with your fines!! *laffin* So see....you did a good thing by not returning those books!

i love your embroidery. and that tea cozy you featured.
my local quilt store had an embroidery/needlecase class that i totally want instructions to. they'll let me buy the kit, but not give me any instructions. wtf?

oh! i love that tea cozy too. thanks for posting it - might have to make on myself...

The tea cozy is gorgeous but I think a trailer tea cozy would be even better!? I love your embroideries - they are just delightful!

Beautiful kitty! We have a very fluffy one ourself, but she's also just very fat!
I am SO glad my fines only run the lines of, say, $6 or so. My hubby is always giving me a hard time about it; he loves to tell everyone how I support our local library. The worst was when I lived in a town of about 150 people and literally walked past the building everyday pushing my son in his stroller, and still had overdue books. Sigh.

Now that is a cat! I've been lurking on your site for a week or so, but Otter made me come out of hiding. I just recently posted photos of my Otter-like cat on my site, too. Must be something in the air...

Otter is gorgeous--what a big beautiful boy! That tea cosy is cute...But I like Di's idea above about a trailer tea cozy, now that would be super-cute! $51.00...that is a pretty hefty library fine--LOL! Happy Days! :o)

I happened upon your blog and just wanted to say I really enjoyed reading/viewing all your projects. The trailer embroidery is very iconic and love the simple nature of it. It made me think of using your simple technique for a present for my mom using "farm" as a theme.

Sometimes i have to make "payments" on my library fines because they are so high. Lucky for me, my kids have cards so I just use theirs while I pay mine off. Of course, I pay any fines that I rack up on their cards!!!

Your cat is absolutely gorgeous!! We have a Maine Coon cat too, but he is black and white.
Too bad you don't live in our town. The library is fine-free on Friday's!

Well, I just received the trailer pillow I ordered from you. I think it's the cutest thing ever! Yes, I know I could make it, but I've also learned that I don't make everything I can. Thank you so much. It will bring a smile to my face every time I see it.

I have to say (with my Librarian hat on here!) $51 is nothing. I have taken £70 from one poor person (that was even waiving some of it!) Still 14 books overdue by 4 months is gonna cost you!
Plus don't worry about the fines - think of all the extra things they can buy with the money! You weren't late returning them.... you were fundraising!

I am sooooo impressed with Noah's stitching. Did he do all those Toni? So sweet. I am going to be helping 14 7 year olds stitch on Friday and honestly I may need Noah's help!
