mini sale!
Any one interested in a cute set of spool lights? I saw these about 3 weeks ago in an adorable quilt shop in Pismo Beach. They were a spontaneous purchase--I was enamored with how cute they looked strung around the window. I bought their last box and strung them up over my sewing machine. Well, they are making me feel cluttered and I don't think they are really me, ya know? I can't return them because I don't have the original package. 20.00 takes the lights and includes shipping! I can only ship these in the US. (10 spools, each 3 inches long)
I also have The Crafter Culture Handbook I want to pass along sold. 11.00 , media mail shipping included. (in the US only) Both the lights and the book are brand new. If your interested drop me an email, first come first served. Payment through Paypal would be best. Thanks guys!

I wanted to pass along a link that Michelle sent me on a site that will be starting crochet lessons! I checked it out and I think I will definitely be popping in for a lesson or two. What a great idea and lovely gift of time she is offering.
Here's where to go--Crafty Daisies
I'm going to Texas next week to visit my Aunt with my mom, and was wondering if any of you could recommend any fabric, yarn or crafty shops that I should check out while I'm there. I'll be in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I appreciate any hot tips... :)

What a nice photo.......sort of Christmasy ...warm and glowing. It made me smile.

Have a great time in Texas. I wish I could justify those lights. I am known as the twinkly light gal in the house, so as you can guess, I have a lot!! xoxo

Any of the fabric outlets (there's at least 5 or 6 different warehouses) on Perth Street off Harry Hines and Walnut Hill in Dallas are fun to shop. Sometimes you have to dig, but that's usually the fun part. These are end of bolts from clothing mfg. from the area. You can find designer and just plain ol' regular stuff, interior and exterior fabrics. It's amazing.
For a knitting store, in uptown Dallas (McKinney Ave. area) try http://www.theshabbysheep.com/

Delurking to pass on DFW info - the Cabbage Rose on Vickery Blvd. in Fort Worth is a great quilting/fabric store. And for yarn in FW I would go to my LYS - Yarns Ewenique on Camp Bowie Blvd. Drop me line if you need more info!

I'll second the Woolie Ewe in Plano. I LOVE their bargain room, and they really are nice and helpful there.
The only place we use lights such as that is to hang around our 5th wheel when we go camping. Somehow I think hubbie might not be crazy about those! ;-Þ They ARE cute, though!

I will second the Cabbage Rose. It is the place I learned to quilt. It is a great shop with TONS of fabric and a great vibe. The women there are nice and helpful. I have been to several shops in the metroplex and keep going back to this one. It is definitely worth checking out. It is about 1 minute off of I-30 in Fort Worth. www.cabbagerosequilting.com
