tree house
I really enjoy drawing. I don't do it very often and usually when the inspiration strikes I need to drop everything and get out my pens and paper. The urge kind of takes over and it's all I can think about until I bring it to fruition. That is just how it went with this one, my tree house. I was thinking of Noah when I added the owl and just as I thought he zeroed in on it right away. He even thought it was nice of me to give the owl a home with the hole in the trunk. Um, I hadn't thought of that when I drew it, but I thought I should just play along anyway. So--the hole in the tree is Mr. Owl's residence :)
I would love to offer this as a print in my Etsy shop. It might be cute for a child's room, ya think? I'm working on how to make prints from home. You need a scanner, right? I have a pretty good printer I think for the job. If any of you could point me in right direction with any tips I would be super appreciative. I have only had prints made in the past at the copier and I'm not wanting to go that route anymore.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend so far!

I love the little washing line bit best.

That is so cute! You could definitely scan it if you have a decent scanner. And most photo-quality printers are hard to tell from the real thing. I print a lot of photos at home and no one knows the difference.

One of the first posts I ever read on your blog way back when was about you drawing a beautiful little piece at about 4 in the morning, awake because you were thinking about it. I'm so glad you're doing it again, I think your style is so lovely, whimsical, and happy. You should definitely do this as a print.
Ian says Hi to Noah! And one of these days, we have got to get Emma together with Hannah, I think Emma would just a-d-o-r-e her! xo

This is a terrific drawing. I love the heart smoke, clothesline, and the entire piece. Not sure what size your originals are done on, but you should definitely check out some electronic stores for different versions of scanners. Home printing is so much better than going to the copier, although watch out for ink pricing on the scanner you chose if you plan to do high volume. Some of it can get a bit pricey for high quality prints.
Good luck and thanks for sharing your work.

That little house looks like home sweet home to me! Very sweet...I love drawing too, I don't draw formally as much as I used to, but when I get a chance to dig into some drawing supplies and have time to doodle to my hearts content, it's always a treat. Happy Days! :o)
