I found Noah in my bathroom the other day--but it was a moment to late. He had just finished putting the final touches on his haircut (gasp!!) He was pretty proud of himself and really, it didn't look all that bad considering. But, there were several bald spots and the inevitable was not to be avoided--he needed a buzz. Goodbye sweet curls, grow back soon.
He looks a little solemn here, but in truth he couldn't be happier with his new hair. This is his "hurry up and take the picture mom must you always carry that camera around" look. Yes, I must, if you really want to know mr. Noah. Otherwise I would not have these precious photos. One day you'll be glad, promise.
Speaking of cutting--I'm so impressed with Hannah's amazing snowflakes she has been making. Soon all of her bedroom window will be covered with them.
I'm loving those stormy skies in the background. It's been so long since we've had good storm and we need the rain.
Well, ack! I have yet to get one Christmas gift made. The shopping we are doing this year is just about done so that's good. But I'm so looking forward to the gifts I'm making--and we're leaving in just a little over a week to head up north back to my parents house. Dearie me. Will I ever be done ahead of time? so far (like, all of my life!!) it hasn't happened. Dang, dang, dang.
Thank you for obliging me with a walk down memory lane in my previous posts. I enjoyed sharing some of our memories with you and I appreciate your kind comments, as always. Have a lovely weekend!

Those are gorgeous flakes, she is muy talented!!
My son did the same thing to his hair when he was seven. I mentioned that he needed a trim so he walked to the bathroom, grabbed the scissors and whacked his hair from his bangs all the way back to his crown, cut to the scalp. It was the same time of year too, just when I wanted him to look nice, not shorn.*G* My youngest daughter did the same thing when she was just 2.5 years old too, she looked like Martha Plimpton's character from Parenthood, with one side long and one side short, short, short. Oh it was awful.
Enjoy your stormy skies, we're due some rain early next week here in east Texas.

I cannot believe how much he looks like my nephew.
We had a similar hair story this summer - except it was not my son who started it. Dad was giving him a buzz - which he really likes b/c he likes all things related to soldiers...but then suddenly dh calls for me to come and take a look. He forgot to put the guard on and had gone through a few swipes and so we had to decide to do the whole head that way or see how it would look w/the rest of it longer...well it was quickly apparent that he needed the whole head SHAVED. The poor boy looked almost bald (and he has a large head so that doesn't help)...it was a bit distressing to me - but my son loved it! The next time he wanted it shaved like that. I prefer a regular buzz cut - but now that it's cold, we'll keep it a bit longer.

Those snowflakes are gorgeous!
Doesn't every child 'cut' their own hair at least once? ;)
Cheers!

What beautiful snowflakes. Did she teach herself or learn from a book? Just gorgeous they are! Ahh to be young and not afraid of the scissors!

~~I love the snowflakes. What kind of paper did she use? And did she learn from a book or is it free hand.
~~It is snowing right now here in New Brunswick Canada. We got 29cm on Monday(big huge snowstorm, we love it) and now again tonight we are suppose to get like 2-4cm but I think more then that has fallen.
~~Me and My cousin use to cut our own bangs. We looked so beautiful...... ;) LOL I think everyone does it when they are kids.
~~Have a great weekend.

Oh No!! I thought cutting up my material was bad, but this would probably make me laugh. maybe. I bet he thought he was really grown up too cutting his own hair!

Toni ~ Would your daughter give us a tutorial? I'd love to learn how to make such detailed snowflakes! They're so pretty.
What a bummer about his hair! My kids have been using the scissors a lot, just recently. I've been 'waiting' for something like this to happen. Seems like every family has a haircutting story. :)

What a beautiful pattern those snowflakes make in the window. At first I thought it was wrapping paper:)
My 2 1/2 year old just got a buzz cut too-but because he has so many swirlies that his hair sticks up if it isn't short or really long.

Oh my, Noah looks like a really handsome "big boy" now. Your daughter's snow flakes are fabulous and I do hope you complete all the gifts on your list!

Have loved the pics! Your son looks very handsome and polished with his new haircut ~ even if it didn't come about exactly as Mom might have planned... BEAUTIFUL snowflakes!

Oh my goodness did that bring back memories! I remember when I gave my little sister a trim, just a trim so I thought! Believe you me, I never tried that again! Mom had a way of reminding me that I was not a barber LOL!!
Wishing you and your sweet family a Merry Christmas!

My brother and I played "Barber" when we were around 4 and 6yrs old. Even though I'm the youngest, I'm no dummy -- I got to be the barber!
(You have such a beautiful family! Have a great holiday!)
