remembering: a sewing son
I love that Micah has has made himself several things that he needed. Slippers, a quiver, a messenger bag to name a few. All from patterns of his own. I love that he's using the machine I bought when he was a baby and that one of the first things I made on that machine was a pair of overalls for him. I've given him the machine.

I hope that my son will do the same, he already loves to sit on my lap and "help" me sew. As soon as he is old enough I want to teach him to use the machine. Your son looks like a pro!

~~What a great post. Gives me hope for me and my son. I am hoping to become a better sewer and to past some of that on to my baby. And we can teach each other too.
~Don't children make you want to be people!! :) And they are just little sponges and want to know so much! I call mine my sunshine!!! :)

Very resourceful... I find having all boys that they are will to venture into some uncharted territory when they need something done. It is awesome to see.

What a catch your Micah is! Crafting, devastatingly talented photographer, and cute to boot! I think he will be fighting them off :) (of course, I know that's not what any mother wants to hear about her baby ;)

That is awesome! My 13 year old likes to sew. He never knows what to sew so he ends up making things like change purses. He is always very excited about it though!!

I just "stumbled" on to your site. I am loving reading your old posts. When I saw the photo of your son sewing, my heart just melted. One of my favorite items is an apron my son made for me when he took Home Ec in 7th grade. He was under the guidance of a teacher and certainly didn't make up his pattern, but it is a precious gift---I use it to this day (he's 31!!!)
