toasty
I love my hand-warmers! This is the first pair I've made and they are super cinchy. I would however like to refine my technique--these have some tiny flaws--but are still so usable. I think I'll look up on the web how others have done it so I can learn some tips. For instance, I had to cut the top off of the thumb when I finished because it was to long and tight, now I have an unfinished edge there that might ravel ( I could finish the edge by hand but I don't want to, so there.) Is there a way to sew stretchy wool without getting the ruffle effect on the edge? There must be, no? I lessened the foot pressure and lengthened the stitch width, that helped some. Sometimes the little ruffle is great, but in this case I sort of wanted the edge to lay flat. At any rate, this first pair fits well and does their job most excellently!! My hands are always cold in the winter, even in the house, so a couple more pairs are in order. I certainly am not running short on scrap sleeves!
Thanks so much for the get well wishes--I'm feeling tons better.

These are so gorgeous. I love the delicate knit and the color-would go with anything in my wardrobe. I bought a pair from jmaccknit on etsy, and they fit very well, however the colors (orange and brown) I picked, although great on their own, is hard for me to coordinate with my outerwear so I find I only wear them in the house.
Maybe once I find the orange wool coat I have been scouting for I will get them out of the house.
In my brief search through etsy I didn't find any that were this delicate and universal. Wish I had, as I would be wearing them a lot more:)

I haven't tried this but I was thinking about it as a solution to the same problem I'm having making a pillow. Anyway, what about using an adhesive water soluble stabilizer?

Very nice, glad you are feeling better. Have you thought of adding binding or something you can sew on by hand? That might keep it from unraveling or knitting binding and sewing it on.

I need to make some for me as I am always cold in winter and my wrists are always the coldest. like my ankles.

That's so funny -- I was just looking for handwarmers on Etsy and couldn't find anything as simple and go-with-everything as yours. Do you think you might possibly make some more (with all those leftover sleeves) and offer them in your shop? I'd love to buy a pair...

So glad you are feeling better. The handwarmers are great and the colors of the tea cup photo and the new quilt are just beautiful. You have such a good eye.

Pretty hand-warmers! I'm not sure what I would do about the stretching seams. Maybe a stabilizer- probably a water soluble one, I don't think a tear away would be suitable. I should experiment, as I happen to have some of both right now. Its good to hear you are feeling better!

what else can I say but, "simply wonderful!".

Gosh, those came out great! Did you use a particular pattern? Did I miss that somewhere? My hands are usually on the cold side too and I hadn't even thought of using warmers like these. I do have fun sliding my cold hands up my boys shirts to warm them up though ;) I know, mean mommy!

Those handwarmers are fantastic. If I were you, I'd make more and put them up on etsy.
Have you managed to find any patterns? I don't have extra sleeves, but wooly tights that are too loose for my arms - where I want them.
With my Bernina I can reduce the pressure of the foot, that usually helps. If there is still unwanted waviness I try to iron it away with lots of steam.

I love the handwarmers, but alas, I live in South Texas, so I would only get to wear them a few days out of the year - still may be worth having. But I really love your tea cup - is it just one of those odd cups in our cupboards, or is it from a set? If so, do you know the pattern? Thanks so much.

Did you get your teacup at Starbucks? I remember taking a picture of some mugs I liked there afew months back. I never got back to buy them, but they look just like yours.
